Quality checks and expert examinations: the difference

How an initial quality check differs from an expert examination in a dispute over the cause of a defect.

Briefly

A quality check is an initial assessment of a product, the presence of a defect and whether it works. An expert examination is needed when the parties dispute the cause of a defect: manufacturing defect, use, damage, repairs, failure to follow instructions or external impact.
